Welcome to the July’s issue of Aimers Digest, where we give you the best insights of the month across the B2B marketing community. Think of it as the glass of marketing juice – that’s full of goodness for your professional expertise and networking! Let’s dive right in.
Drew Neisser, CEO at CMO Huddles, is sharing how to communicate the value of your marketing to CFOs in a sustainable way. If you show up to the meetings with your CFO only with a spreadsheet, the company will end up over-investing in short-term activities. If you focus on the data and numbers, your CFO will believe that “every dollar invested can be directly connected to revenue” (which is not true). Instead, build a sustainable partnership with your CFO, based on strategic understanding of how your business operates and develops in the long term. Read the whole post here.
Laura Erdem, Sales Manager at Dreamdata, is urging marketers to not “push” their own understanding of the customer’s buying process on the clients. She stresses: “Your Selling process is not Their Buying process!” Her advice? “Do your best helping your clients to buy.“ Read the entire post here.
Steve Patti, Fractional Growth Leader & Advisor, points out that a new generation of marketers in tech is missing the fundamentals of marketing. He argues that “young tech marketers are the victims of bad timing and lots of VC/MarTech propaganda.” Steve’s advice is to avoid simply chasing buzzwords and the hottest trends, but to build a solid foundation for your marketing and brand building, based on the research in the field over the 20th century. Chris Cunningham, Founding Member & Head of Social Marketing at ClickUp, reminds marketers to not miss the forest for the trees by loosing themselves in various marketing tactics, but to always keep in mind the two main purposes of marketing: 1. Generate traffic, then convert that traffic into loyal customers.” Read the whole post here.
Yulia Olennikova, Head of Marketing at N.Rich, berates the hot trend of AI hyper-personalization in marketing outreach. Dave Gerhardt, Founder of B2B Marketing community Exit Five, is sharing the key element that’ll allow you to grow on LinkedIn. It’s called “engagement” – and that’s what is missing from many growth efforts. People are eager to share their own content, but not as eager to engage. Dave stresses that “social media is a two-way street”, and recommends the following formula for “networking at scale”:
“Find interesting people / relevant people in your niche.
Follow them. Start liking + commenting on their posts.”

Laura Erdem shares Dreamdata’s stats on how B2B businesses are spending their ad budget. LinkedIn ads account for 31.1%, while Google Network is still an undeniable leader with 51.9% share of the budget pie.
Tas Bober is sharing the takeaway from more than 100 landing pages audits she’s done: “70% of visitors never reach the bottom of a B2B landing page”. She notes that marketers hyper-focused on conversions and tend to forget the simple fact that if users are “not consuming, they’re not converting.” Her advice is to craft each section of your landing page in such a way that it sends your user to the next section, not the main CTA.
